DID YOU KNOW…

...that for the first time "formal pictures" were taken of grandparents and their grandchildren after our traditional Masses. We are grateful to Paul Sylvest for making this possible through his skill as a photographer and graphic artist. The pictures were beautiful!

…that we wish to thank our grandparents for their patience with our initial endeavor with picture taking, particularly at the second Mass. The unique love that grandparents have for their grandchildren was so evident as they waited faithfully for that special picture.

…that it would be difficult to name all of the volunteers who contributed to the success of the Grandparents’ Masses and receptions. We are so grateful for all of you who participated in the celebration of the gift of our grandparents.

…that our school received a contribution of $1,204.02 from the collection from the Grandparents’ Masses. We are so grateful for the generosity of our Grandparents and Father Dean who allowed us to have half of the collection.

…that car line went very slowly yesterday for early dismissal due in large to the fact that so many cars were without signs. Children are not accustomed to looking for some of these cars, and not having signs complicates the procedure. Please make sure that anyone who picks up your child has a sign.

…that because of your contributions to our playground fund, we were able to purchase much needed basketball rims and nets.

…that the first Patriots’ project will be helping with Hope for Animals. We will be collecting items to donate to this organization. More on this in next week’s newsletter.

…that there was an influx of students in our Before Bell program due to the seventh grade field trip of this past Tuesday. Drop-ins for our Before and After Bell programs are limited to emergencies. We do not have the personnel to accommodate these additional children.

MAKE SPECIAL NOTE:

  1. Members of our student commission and the home and school officers will be officially installed at tomorrow’s Mass.

  2. A doctor’s excuse for appointments for absences and check-outs must be sent to school the next day. If a child does not have an appointment but is absent, a note from the parent must be sent upon the child’s return. In both situations, the absences are logged as unexcused until we receive an excuse.

  3. Tomorrow is Bubble Day. Children may bring bubbles for recess fun.

  4. School pictures will go home this Monday. Retakes are October 20th.

  5. A Junior High Youth Dance will be held in the Family Center on October 3rd, from 7 to 10 PM. The cost is $5.00.

  6. On October 4th, a Mass for our beloved pets, in honor of the Feast of St. Francis will take place in the school parking lot at 6 PM. Bring your pet and a chair. All are invited to attend.

  7. Our first Domino’s Pizza night is this Tuesday, October 6th. You will receive an informational flyer on Monday.

  8. In honor of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7th, a candlelight rosary procession will begin in church at 7 PM and conclude in the parking lot. Candles will be provided.

  9. Thursday, October 8th is "Spirit Day." Children may substitute their uniform shirt for our new yellow T-Shirt. This is the only allowable substitution.

  10. The fall break is October 9th through the 13th. School resumes on Wednesday, October 14th.
